STEAMinar: Psilocybin: From Molecule to Medicine
What happens in the brain during a psychedelic experience, and what might it teach us about the future of medicine? Join the STEAM Committee and Audrey Tharp, M.Sc., founder of Hot Girl Pharma, for an engaging exploration of psilocybin’s journey from psychoactive compound to potential therapeutic. Discover how researchers are studying its effects on brain signaling, neural networks, and neuroplasticity-the brain’s ability to adapt and form new connections. Together, we’ll explore the promise of psychedelic research and the questions still driving the field: What contributes to the therapeutic effects observed in clinical studies, and what role does the psychedelic experience itself play? Lunch & Learn: Beyond the Spreadsheet: Turning Nonprofit Data Into Decisions & Impact
Beyond the Spreadsheet: Turning Nonprofit Data Into Decisions & Impact Nonprofits collect a lot of data—program participation, demographics, surveys, outcomes, stories, spreadsheets, and everything in between. But how much of it is actually helping you make better decisions? Join the Philanthropy Collective for an interactive Lunch & Learn with Tricia Hodge, Impact Strategist and Program Evaluator, designed to help nonprofit professionals rethink the role data plays in their organizations. As nonprofits navigate growing community needs, tighter resources, and increasing expectations to demonstrate impact, collecting more data isn’t necessarily the answer. At the same time, philanthropy is evolving, with greater emphasis on trust, learning, community voice, reducing reporting burdens, and understanding impact beyond traditional metrics. Together, we’ll explore how to move beyond collecting data simply for reporting and begin using the information you already have to learn, make decisions, strengthen programs, and communicate your impact. We’ll tackle questions like: • What is actually worth measuring? • How can we get more value from the data we already collect? • How can data support both accountability and organizational learning? • Where can emerging tools, including AI, help us make sense of information without replacing human judgment? And because some of the best learning happens through conversation, we’ve built in time before and after the workshop to connect with fellow nonprofit professionals, exchange ideas, and grow your network. Bring your questions. Bring your programs. You can even bring your messy spreadsheets! Event Schedule 11:30 AM–12:00 PM | Lunch + Networking 12:00–12:45 PM | Interactive Workshop 12:45–1:00 PM | Q&A + Networking Lunch and refreshments are provided. $35 ++ per person.
